Hola from Honduras!

Having no electricity was interesting. A little difficult without fans, but we are pretty tough so it was no big deal. We fired up the generator for the kitchen and had a little party with the kids who live at the home! We had cake, painted canvases (thanks Betsy and Marinda!), and had tickle fights! Luckily I knew how to say "no more" or "No Mas!" because those kids attack in mobs!  WE FINISHED THE HOLE!!! The house is also coming along really well. Today we got to finish work early and go to the pool with the kids! Being a lifeguard, going to a pool with no rules was a huge change. But the amazing thing is, kids don't swim in areas where they can't touch, they do AWESOME tricks going down the slides and don't get hurt, and they run without falling on their face. These kids don't need a lifeguard! Pools in America would be so much more fun if kids just learned how to be smart about their actions! Caleb was a beast and did the tricks that the Honduran boys were doing. It took him a couple tries, but he finally surfed his way down the slide!!

Some random things I would like to add-
The guard dogs here are so friendly. I got to feed them today and since then, they obey me when I ask them to come or sit (which are all commands you have to say in Spanish).
Delia is an amazing cook!
The people here are so friendly to us!
Its kind of amusing to be working then see a man ride his horse next to you or herd his cattle down the street.
I want to take all the children home with me.
I was a total nerd when it came to touching the Mayan ruins.

Tomorrow we go to a Spanish-speaking church service! Some of the songs are songs we sing in America so maybe we can sing along in English. We also get to watch some baptisms.

Well, I hope you all are enjoying our blog! We are having a great time! But I am personally really excited to come home to my Dad and my bed. (I hope my dad reads this....)
Adios!
-Ellen :)
